As you already know, I spent a couple of days in Zürich a couple of weeks ago. As I didn't have enough money or time to go for a proper hike somewhere more rural, I decide to go for the second best option and headed towards a mountain called Uetliberg on my last day in the town. The mountain locates right next to the city, and you can make your way to the beginning of the walking paths from the town centre in half an hour - either on foot or by tram. Kuten jo tiedättekin, vietin pari päivää...

I am back in Edinburgh now, all moved in in to our new flat and writing this in my very own study. I love it. I also loved the country number 24: Switzerland. I've done more travelling this year than I expected but Switzerland was the first new country that I was able to tick off on my list. I spent two nights and two and half days in Zürich last week and it was totally worth it. Olen palannut Edinburghiin ja ehtinyt jo muuttamaan uuteen asuntoommekin ja kirjoittelen tätä omassa työhuoneessani,...

I just spent one amazing month in this wonderful small country called Luxembourg. Returning to the same places I learnt to be happy again two years ago was better than I expected. Time's been flying and when you're reading this post, I'm on a short visit to Switzerland from where I continue to my friend's place in Germany. I waved goodbyes to my host family that left to Iceland a couple of days ago, packed my bags, and decided it would be time to take a little look back and see what a month in...

Last Friday I woke up after 5am, packed my bags and made myself breakfast and a couple of sandwiches. Hopped on a bus at 7:12am, and headed to the city centre of Luxembourg. Half an hour of waiting, getting on another bus and three hours to Brussels. Lunch time, a cold frappuccino under the burning hot sun and +28 degrees. Next bus to Amsterdam and a train to the central station, finding my friends in a nearby Starbucks. Viime perjantaina heräsin aamulla viideltä, pakkasin laukkuni ja tein...

On 23rd of June Luxembourg celebrated the The Grand Duke's Official Birthday, otherwise known as Luxembourgish national day or the Nationalfeiertag. As that Saturday was a public holiday, the city organised yearly fireworks late on Friday evening, and I obviously had to go and see them. I have to say I'd definitely recommend you to go and take a look if you happen to find yourself in Luxembourg this time of the year - who needs new year's in Sydney when you can have this? 23. kesäkuuta...

The ones who have been following me for a bit longer will know I spent my gap year as an au pair. First stop was Luxembourg in June 2016, followed by Western Australia from late July 2016 onward. It seems like a lifetime ago, but on the other hand I still remember it like yesterday how it felt when I finally had confirmed my arrival with my family and booked my flights to Perth. Becoming an au pair, moving abroad and travelling were my biggest dreams at the time. That graduation summer was the...

Me and my friends just spent a week in London and I already shared some of the best moments here but I also wanted to highlight one of the places we visited: Tate Modern. The day started off lateish, we got a train to London Bridge station, walked through Borough markets, and headed towards Tate Modern while enjoying the views from the south bank. It was Monday morning and even though London is never quiet, the masses of tourists weren't nearly as bad as they could have been. Vietin vähän aikaa...

I'm currently in my cousin's place in Surrey, sorting out my things and mentally preparing myself for the early wake up I'm about to face tomorrow. I'm going to be working as an assistant in a conference again and even though I'm excited about it, waking up at 4am to get to London in time doesn't sound too tempting. Especially after a week long holiday including later and later nights, and later and later mornings with my friends in this very same city. Olen parhaillaan serkkuni luona...

Living abroad has made me appreciate many things Finnish more than I used to when I still lived in Finland. One of those things is definitely the amazing, untouched nature Finland has, and all the great opportunities my country offers - especially what comes to outdoorsy activities. The older I get the more I seem to enjoy simple things: just being outside, going for a little walk in the forest, or even a hike. Spending over three weeks of May in Finland was a great decision, it was warm and...

I wrote this post three weeks ago but never got to publishing it. I know this comes out late as I'm already on my way back to Scotland and I've been very silent here during my holiday in Finland, but what can you do. I'll be back with more Finland feelings and some travel themed posts later on, but here are some thoughts from the first day of my summer holiday! Kirjoitin tämän postauksen kolme viikkoa sitten, mutten koskaan saanut sitä julkaistua. Tiedän, että tämä tulee ulos tosi...

Past few days, or more like few weeks, have been super busy. After my sister flew back home I took a night bus to England and spent a week there visiting my cousin and her husband. My auntie was there as well and it was lovely to see all of them. Four days of that week were spent working - my first time being a conference assistant, getting to walk in London wearing a suit, and enjoying it a lot even though I was completely exhausted afterwards. Muutama viime päivä, tai oikeammin muutama viime...

* post in collaboration withTaste of Finland* postaus toteutettu yhteistyössä Taste of Finlandin kanssa.I believe every expat Finn knows what it's like to live abroad what comes to food: you desperately try find proper bread in the shops, buy Finn crisps that are not quite the same as proper Hapankorppu and when you finally go back to Finland you go crazy in the grocery stores and buy anything and everything you see. Or that's me at least. There's nothing quite like Finnish bread or Finnish...

6:30am and I wake up when the bus stops at Heathrow airport to drop off a passenger. 7am and we're at Victoria station, I treat myself to a chocolate frappe from Pret A Manger and wander towards the Westminster, then over the river Thames and to London Eye. 6:30 aamulla ja herään siihen, kun bussi pysähtyy jättämään matkustajan pois kyydistä Heahrown lentoasemalla. Seitsemän pintaan saavutaan Victorian asemalle, sallin itselleni suklaafrappen Pret A Mangerista ja käveleskelen kohti...

On last Saturday me and my sister decided to head to Stirling - a town just a 40 minute train ride away from Edinburgh. The morning was sunny, weather was warm throughout the day, and it didn't rain at all: I could say the trip was a success.

Sometime ago there were a bunch of Finnish travel bloggers publishing posts in which they shared their old Facebook profile photos from past 10 years along little stories behind each photo. I wrote this idea down immediately and now finally felt like actually writing this post. However, I haven't been on Facebook for ten years yet, and the first profile photos I have have nothing to do with travelling. So, instead of 10 years we'll do 5 years of profile photos! Jokin aika sitten useampi...
